Kit, Nita, and Dairine are invited to the Invitational to mentor a young wizards to show off his skill. The cutthroat competition and ruthless judging pushes them into a world wind and in the final stage where the conflict could change the solar system. There are a ton of characters in this story, and one of the side characters explicitly tells Nita that she’s asexual and explains what it is. It’s a very short scene that doesn’t play any role in the plot and is left there.
